General Tournament Information
ENTRY FEES
Entry fees
are $595 per team. All fees are payable
to East Marietta Basketball, Inc., by cashier’s check, money order, Visa or
MasterCard (All credit card charges will be subject to a $20.00 administrative
fee). NO PERSONAL OR TEAM CHECKS
WILL BE ACCEPTED.

PERFORMANCE
BOND
A performance
bond of $100 per team is due with your registration form and entry fees. This bond is required of each team and will
be refunded within 90 days of the completion of the tournament, but only after
verification that all scheduled games have been played, mandatory meetings were
attended, no damages have occurred to the hotel, gyms, etc., all membership and
insurance fees have been paid; and that your team has complied with all
tournament requirements, including verification of staying at YBOA-approved
accommodations during the entire length of the tournament.
BIRTH RECORDS
Photocopies
of original birth certificates of all players, with state or county seal
clearly legible, will be accepted. Teams are responsible for ensuring that
these items are brought to and presented at registration. Player eligibility will be certified by the
tournament staff at that time. DO
NOT MAIL OR FAX BIRTH RECORDS TO YBOA. Players who cannot provide acceptable birth records will not be
allowed to participate until such forms are received.
ROSTER LIMITS
All rosters
will be limited to 15 players per team. A team may add up to 3 players to their
state tournament roster providing those players played in a Qualifying Tournament (see rules and regulations for
further details). Rosters must be
received by the YBOA National Office or postmarked no later than June 5, 2004. Players may not participate in more than
one age division or on more than one team.
NUMBER OF
GAMES
All teams will be scheduled a
minimum of five games.
COMPLETION OF
PAIRINGS
Game
schedules will be distributed at the mandatory coaches’ meeting Saturday
evening. Bracket play schedules will be
available on Tuesday evening, June 27, 2006
at 9:00 pm.
FACILITIES
All games will be played in
regulation, air-conditioned gymnasiums.
No practice sites will be available.
OFFICIALS
All officials will be either high
school certified or college experienced.
RULES OF PLAY
National High
School Federation rules and YBOA Policies apply with the following time
modifications:
16-17 &
Under ...................................play
8-minute quarters
Minimum
pre-game warm-up is 10 minutes.
BASKETBALL
DIMENSIONS
The 16 &
Under and 17 & Under Boys will use regulation size basketballs.
ENTRY
DEADLINE
All money and
forms must be received or postmarked by the entry deadline date of June
10, 2006. Qualifying in a State
Tournament does not guarantee an entry into Nationals.
CANCELLATIONS
A $75.00 processing
fee will be kept on all canceled registrations. No refunds will be given after Monday, June
15, 2006.
PROTESTS
All protests
must be reported immediately to the Site Director and must be in written
form. Protests must be accompanied by a
$100 cash handling fee. A committee
will consider protests as soon as time permits.
MEMBERSHIP/INSURANCE
Each team
must be an Association Member of YBOA.
Each team must also register all of their players and have a Player
Registration Form on file with the YBOA National Office. All Coaches must be members of the YBOA
Coaches & Officials Association. For

COACH ID TAGS
Only NCAA
cleared coaches and players will be permitted on the gym floor. Everyone in the playing area will be
required to have a special Identification Tag.
These tags will be issued by tournament officials at registration. A maximum of three coaches per team,
including ballboys and statisticians, will be permitted in the bench area.
EQUIPMENT
Tape, towels,
etc. are acceptable in the gyms and must be provided by the participants. No outside food is allowed in the gyms. Each team is expected to leave the bench
area in a neat and clean condition.
DO NOT BRING
BASKETBALLS TO THE GYMS.
NATIONAL
AWARDS
Team trophies
will be awarded to the 1st through 10th place teams in each age division. Individual awards will be given to the players of the 1st through 4th place
teams in each age division. In addition,
the following selections will be made from each age division:

All-Tournament Team Members
· 1 Most
Valuable Player
· 2 “Hustle”
Awards
PLAYER
PACKAGE
Each player
will receive a 2006 National Tournament pin and bag.
UNIFORMS
All teams
must have either reversible jerseys (with two different colors) or two sets of
jerseys (light and dark). The home team
in each game will wear light-colored jerseys.
Jerseys must have permanent numbers on the front and back (no tape or
markers). International rules will
apply to allow numbers from 00 to 99.
Numbers must be at least 4” in height on the front of the jersey
and at least 6” in height on the back of the jersey. If undershirts are worn, they must be either
white or the same color as the jersey.
All undershirts worn by a team must be the same color.
CONDUCT
During your team’s stay at the tournament, each Association is responsible for the behavior and actions of players, coaches and parents, including non-payment of hotel or restaurant bills and any destruction that is caused by persons within your organization.
